Saturday, September 16 -- Jamestown placed 4th in the Virginia Tech Invitational. It was a very very hily and slow course. The slowest course Jamestown will run on this year. The squad came in 4th behind (1)Western Albermarle (AA), (2)James W. Robinson (AAA), (3)Cave Spring (AAA). Jamestown junior Bryce Ruiz placed 2nd in a course record breaking time of 15:40. The previous record was 15:44. The winner was sophomore John Crews of Rockbridge County (AA) in a time of 15:28. Jamestown junior Tony Davilla placed 20th in a time of 16:54. Jamestown junior Jeff Magner finally broke the 17 minute barrier with a great time for 21st place of 16:57. Jamestown sophomore Brandon Miles ran a respectable time for 26th with a 17:02 with a shin injury. Jamestown sophomore Ricky Rehkopf did fairly well in his big invitational debut with a time of 18:15 for 85th place.
